game was advertised as my "Last Zero Game EVER", and I certainly got a
lot of feed back about that. New players and return players were
very disappointed to hear this event wouldn't be repeated, and everyone
wanted to know WHY.
The main reason for me "retiring" the game is because of how time consuming they are to me personally. I literally have another FULL TIME job while there's a Zero Game event happening, and it really takes its toll on my personal life. I'm sure I put in well over a hundred hours for this event, so you can just imagine how much I was sitting at my computer over the weeks before, during, and after the game. For a better understanding, be sure to read BEHIND THE SCENES. First off, I would like to say that I never said it would be the LAST game I ever host, just the Last Zero Game ;) Furthermore, I thought that Round 3 would be my last Zero Game, but hey, a Round 4 was created, so who knows what the future could bring? Perhaps with the right "motivation", I could be coaxed into hosting yet another Zero Game, but I think my days of "x"cerpting MEGA effort and energy into a game promoting a site that belongs to someone else is over. Now don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy the Zero Game myself, it's just the WORK I could do without. It has become increasingly difficult for me to justify donating so much time for something that lasts just a week or so, and time that I should be spending doing other things, either here at home, or for my own site. Regardless, no one knows what the future holds, so only time will tell what contests and projects I might be creating in the future for Flakeville ;) The ZERO GAME IV was a wonderful event, and one I won't soon forget. I want to thank everyone for playing it and making it such a smashing success. |
