Dear Flaker Friends,

As most of you know, I haven't been spending a lot of time at SnowDays for quite some time now.  As I've mentioned on other pages, the new changes are less than desirable to me, so I've moved on.  What's really quite interesting though, (to me anyway), is that MANY of you obviously feel the same way as I do.

This past week I have been checking the daily flake count at SnowDays, and what I've discovered while doing so is almost shocking to say the least!  Popular Front's SnowDays has been on a steady downward spiral since they've made the changes to the site, (and since I've quit promoting it).  I checked the numbers from 2009, 2010, and 2011.  - The numbers speak for themselves! -

2009 - The "old" SnowDays as we loved it.  I was still vigorously promoting it at this time.

2010 - The "new" program was introduced in June.  I did little promoting afterward.

2011 - Almost a year and a half later after the "new" program, with NO promoting from MisterX.ca

HERE ARE THE NUMBERS!
.

2009 2010 2011
October 14th ................... 2771 ................... 1739 ................... 771
October 15th 2834 1639 601
October 16th 2960 2171 543
October 17th 5015 1891 834
October 18th 3692 1840 723
October 19th 3417 1695 881
October 20th 3673 1856 776

Really, the 2011 numbers are almost unbelievable, especially when comparing them to 2 years prior.  2000 to 3000 less flakes made PER DAY!  Even from last year, SnowDays is easily averaging 1000 less flakes made per day.... HOW SAD  :(

The once thriving community of Flakeville is becoming a ghost town!  It no longer has a Mayor and it's citizens are fleeing in droves!  Of course this is what happens when you have a true success and then just change it as you see fit with no input from the masses that frequent it.  Oh well, as the saying goes, 'what's done is done' ~

Perhaps Popular Front should add some tumble weeds to the background.  If this keeps up, they would certainly suit the site!  Of course Christmas is coming and the place usually goes ballistic then anyway, but it should prove to be interesting to witness!  ;)

Happy Autumn!
