A FLURRY OF "SEASONS GREETINGS"!

(& A Flurry of Mister X's Rantings)
Wow, here it is!  The ORIGINAL SNOWDAYS, (even BEFORE it was actually called "SnowDays").  Created way back in 2002 as a holiday greetings page for Popular Front and their clients, no one could have ever guessed it would have blossomed into the phenomenon now known as SnowDays.  Although a wee bit 'primitive' to what we are now familiar with, at the time it was truly a ground breaking flash-oriented web site, even winning a spot as "site of the day" from Macromedia itself.  To me, the very BEST part of this rather dated file is the program itself...it's the ORIGINAL program that was used for many YEARS, (until just recently), even after the site's look changed into what we are now familiar with.  It is the program which MisterX.ca's instructions were based on.

Now I know that I'm likely biased in my opinion, but I honestly think this OLD program was actually SUPERIOR to the one(s) being currently eXperimented with at SnowDays.  It has all the original "magic" that made SnowDays what it IS.  No tools for straight lines, (but alas, even here straight lines can be done, either by "hand", or with the ALT button!).  No Scissor Police scale, (It's wonderful to now have more flake memory, but the "mystery" of the SP's is now no more), and it has better control for making Negatives and Positives, (I will spare you of my opinions of the "new" ways to flip flakes!), and so on, and so on....

I could go on and on about WHY I think this old program is superior, but what would be the point?  Popular Front has decided that it is out dated and needed to be 'improved', and in doing so they lost MANY old timer flakers...including myself.  I know we really TRIED to embrace the new program(s), but just couldn't do it.  Oh sure, I will still occasionally "drop in" to the site and will even make the occasional flake, but I find myself being irritated when I do so, and there is absolutely NOTHING I can do about that.

Perhaps the loss of so many flakers will have no effect on SnowDays.  New flakers will inevitably replace the old, as they always have done.  It's just sad when folks like me, and many others, lose a place that was so dear to our hearts.  SnowDays lives on, even though it is NOT the same place as it once was~

PLEASE NOTE:
ALTHOUGH YOU CAN MAKE A FLAKEY CREATION IN THE ABOVE WINDOW, THE PROGRAM IS NOT LINKED INTO THE SNOWDAYS
DATA BASE.  THEREFORE, YOU WILL NOT SEE ANY FLAKES FALLING AND YOUR FLAKE WILL NOT BE ADDED TO THE PROGRAM.
