ADD MORE SNOW TO MAKE IT SLOW!
Here's a kewl trick that'll help you make straight lines when trying to "scribble" out a flake. You can slow down your computer's CPU by combining pages of SnowDays and MisterX.ca by opening several windows at the same time. Here's what you need to know...
First of all, many of you already have slower computers, so you may not need to do this at all. If, when you try scribbling your lines on a snowflake at SnowDays, you notice that the cut line does not quite keep up with your cursor, you already have this effect. It can help you make straighter lines and have more control if you are trying to make my Scribbled One Cut flakes by causing you to scribble slower while you wait for the cut line to "catch up" with your cursor. Folks that DO have fast puters can achieve this same effect by doing the following:
Open a SnowDays window, then open a MisterX.ca window where there is animated snow falling, (some browsers will not show the snow falling at MisterX.ca so make sure you are using one that does, such as Internet "X"plorer, or Netscape). Now try to scribble out a flake. Is there a noticeable difference in the speed of the cut line? If not, open up yet another window of MisterX.ca where the snow falls. Continue opening up more of these windows until it slows your computer down. You may need to open a few windows of SnowDays as well as a few of MisterX.ca. There will be some "x"perimentation involved on your part as each computer is obviously different and it will depend on how many other programs you have running in the background, but opening MANY windows of both sites will eventually slow down your computer.
Once
you find the ratio you need to do this, you will find that if you scribble
too quickly your cut line will take shortcuts to try and keep up with your
cursor. Try scribbling slower, even taking pauses if necessary until
the cut line catches up. Your lines will be VERY straight and you
will have more control. This is a wonderful learning tool to use
until you get the "feel" of making your swipes to create scribbled one
cuts. HAVE FUN! :)
Combine
windows of MisterX.ca & SnowDays to get a kewl "effect"!
