(December 12th/2011) while I was snooping about on the internet, (yes,
I do that), I found out that a case has been filed against Popular Front
in the Minnesota District Court for (apparently) copyright infringement
from a company called Make LLC. The case was filed on December 9th
and it seems to revolve around a web site PF either created or updated
for Starkey Laboratories Inc., one of the world's leading Hearing Aid companies.
Here is what I found at Justia.com, a web site that posts Law and Legal information.... After a bit more "snooping", I found that the case appears to be about copyright issues.... ...and even FURTHER snooping found this information about the Starkey web site and what Popular Front did there.... Of course, one can only speculate about what eXactly the case is really about. While snooping around, I did find a place where the documents about the case could be purchased, but I'm cheap and couldn't be bothered! When visiting the MAKE site, (located at http://makevisual.com/ ), they state that "MAKE is a design studio that specializes in the art of storytelling through motion graphics, visual effects, and animation". One could "guess" that the Starkey web site created/updated by Popular Front, (located at http://www.starkey.com/ ) is very similar to a site created by MAKE, or was originally made by them, and that's why they launched this suit. Regardless
of the reason why the case was filed, one has to wonder if a "non eXistant"
company like Popular Front can even be taken to court. After all,
they closed over a month ago and are technically KAPUT! Should be
interesting to see what, if anything, comes out of this...
