Well, if you've heard the rumors, I'm sorry to inform you that they're true.  Popular Front, the advertising agency located in Minneapolis, have closed their office doors for good.  Although details of the closer are still sketchy, I do know that Popular Front held a meeting for their employees on November 4th/2011 to inform them of the bad news.

Shortly after the recession hit the States, I was having a conversation via email with one of the founders of the company, and he had informed me back then that the economic situation was already having an impact on Popular Front.  I can only assume this is the reason for their going out of business and that they have become yet another casualty of the now global economic woes.

Popular Front was in business for approXimately 22 years and was responsible for many ground breaking interactive web sites that they designed for some major BIG brands.

Of course regular visitors to MisterX.ca will be concerned about the future of SnowDays and what's in store for the social flake making site.  Once again, details are sketchy at this time, but strangely enough there appears to be a possible "light at the end of the tunnel" for the site.  A message has been left at the SnowDays Flakers Flickr Group by the original programmer of SnowDays that seems promising, (HERE).  Naturally, it's too early to say for sure, but I know many folks will be keeping their fingers x'd about this!

Regardless of what eventually becomes of SnowDays, I know this is a difficult time for the founders and employees of Popular Front Interactive Communications.  My heart felt condolences go out to all of them.

Should you feel so inclined, I invite you to leave a message for the folks at Popular Front on a flake I created for them shortly after I first began "flaking".  You can do so HERE.

GOOD LUCK to all of the former staff and owners of Popular Front.
