Apparently,
many folks have been asking Patticakes how she makes her "Starburst" flakes.
These flakes are easy to make
and
have a great unfolding. The hardest part about them is the patience
required to make MANY small dots while creating the flake!
WHAT
YOU NEED TO KNOW:
Essentially,
this is a variation of the Bubble Flake.
All you need to know is how to make a NEGATIVE
flake and follow the
directions
below to understand Patticakes' individual twist on this flaking "trick"!
:)
ThanX to Patticakes for taking out the time to describe these flakes! - X -

Hi Xsy
I have had a number of people ask me how to make the starburst flakes so I thought I would send this off to you instead of explaining it to each person who asks. They are real simple to make. If you want to post it on your site that would be great.
Take care, Patticakes
Animated
Starburst Flake
(view
flake #2722823 to see what these flakes do!)
To
make a Starburst flake start out by making any design at the tip of your
triangle (see Illustration #1)
Now
reverse your flake.
(X-NOTE:
Use the directions found HERE)
*Note:
If you are not able to make the dots then your reverse did not work correctly,
click on the undo button and try reversing your flake again.
Starting
just under the design you've made, start making tiny dots or triangles
going across and down but leaving some space on each side of your triangle
so you can later add what I call spikes.
(X-NOTE:
Start from the center and gradually work your way towards the outside of
the flake. See SMOOTH ANIMATIONS
for the reason why!)
Once
you have either reached the bottom of the flake or where ever you chose
to stop, then
go
back up and across and fill in all the blank spots with more dots.
To
add spikes on either side of your flake, start just under your
beginning
design and in a little bit, make a line outward then down.
And
that's it! An easy flake to create that has a wonderful unfolding
and will also sparkle beautifully when falling unfolded!
What
more could a flaker ask for?!
ThanX
again to Patticakes for these wonderful instructions and screen shots :)))))
