L's SIGNATURE FLAKES

Once a flaker has basic knowledge of flipping flakes, (or parts of flakes), from positive to negative, MANY interesting techniXes can be achieved.  Here's a relatively simple "trick" that allows one to write anything into the design of their flake.

Step One, first part:
Start at Point A, and draw a name in cursive. You can see I finished drawing at Point C, but I took the picture before I released the mouse.

Step One, second part:
I unintentionally released the mouse at Point C. If you don't want the straight line along AC, then exit at Point C, and go outside the triangle along line AC, and end up at Point A where you started. This would give you the same design, but without the white line.

Step Two, first part:
Start drawing again at Point A. Trace just under your original "signature", as seen by the dotted line. Something you can't see: I made a loop on the upper corner of the "G". In the final flake, the loop shows up and the inside of the loop is reversed back to positive. You can see the loop I made around the bottom part of the "G". The center of this loop reverses back to positive in the final flake. (Caution: these loops don't always work. Don't get
discouraged. Just hit RESET, and try again.) Notice also that I made a loop around the bottom part of the "y".  As in Step One, I took this picture before I released the mouse to complete this step.

Step Two, second part:
Exit the triangle at Point C, circle outside the triangle underneath from C to B, and then back up to Point A. End up just inside the triangle at Point A, and release the mouse.

Step Three:
Reverse the entire flake. I got lucky on this one. The only things I added were a little bit of definition on the top section of the "a", and I also added a line along the left side of the triangle.  Sometimes you have to fill in a bit more dark to make the name more legible. Caution: The SP won't allow you too many more cuts after this. Too many curved lines and crossovers! This ended up being Flake 2463895.

Once again, many thanX to L for her ingenuity and sharing yet another technique with us all!  Unfortunately, I sat on these instructions for 3 months before finally posting them.  What can I say?  I am a hopeless addicted flaker that can't seem to stop!  I'm sure L can relate to my dilemma!
