Although
the Ripple Effect was originally designed to be a game, it is truly one
of the flashiest flakes you can create.
To
see what can be done, type RIPPLE EFFECT into the MESSAGE box in the Find-a-Flake
feature at SnowDays.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here
is a kewl concept! A "game" that was created by L :) Make a
"Ripple Effect" flake and see who can make the most "ripples".
Remember,
as always, the straighter you make your lines, the more Ripples the SP's
will allow you. So GOOD LUCK & have fun! -X-
IMPORTANT
X-NOTE!
SOME
OF THE FOLLOWING SCRIPT CONTAINS RULES SET OUT FOR THE RIPPLE EFFECT GAME

Ripple Effect is a fun SNOWFLAKE GAME I devised! Best of all, it is super easy to understand! Yay! Cut the Ripple Effect design, with reverses, into your flake. This is all described below.
IMPORTANT: Before you launch your flake into the sky, BE SURE TO TYPE THE WORDS "RIPPLE EFFECT" INTO THE MESSAGE BOX!! This way, other flakers who play the game can find all the other Ripple Effect flakes to compare with.
Search for your flake by typing the number into the search engine. As you watch your flake open, try to count the number of "ripples" before the SP stopped you.
Now
here is where the "game" comes in. If you type "Ripple effect"
into the message box of the search engine, you will find a lot of other
flakes made in this same way. Compare your flake to the others.
Does yours have more ripples? Fewer? Is your flake
messy? Neat? Is your design kewl? Unkewl?
LOL! Anyway, the object of the game is to see WHO CAN MAKE THE MOST RIPPLES!
There are no prizes yet, unless you count the tons of responses.
We all love that!
This
is a new game; hence, there are not a lot of rules. (Ripple Effect 1.0,
I guess.) But here are some suggestions:
More
than four notches results in the best show.
The
straighter you can make the lines, the more reverses (and more "ripples"
in the end) you can get.
It
doesn't matter if you alternate the notches, or if you put them all on
one side.
Making
the notches smaller makes it possible to get more "ripples."

RE
1
The
first notch is cut into the side of the triangle.
RE
2, 3, and 4
The
second, third, and fourth notches are cut. (Remember, this
is only a sample! You can cut more notches if you like. They don't have
to alternate right, left, right, left; they can all be on one side, or
however you want them. If you only cut four notches, the animation in the
final result will be too speedy, and not as much fun to watch. Try eXperimenting
with five, six, or seven notches.)
RE
5
This
is what the flake looks like after I reversed it entirely.
RE
6
Cut
a line around the first notch, which reverses as a result of the cut. The
cutting line shows up white.
IMPORTANT!!!
REMEMBER, THIS IS DONE ON THE OUTSIDE OF YOUR "NOTCH"! -X-
RE
7, 8, and 9
A
line is cut around the second, third, and fourth white notches. After cutting
around the fourth notch, reverse the entire flake. You should get a Flake
Preview that looks almost eXactly like RE 5.
Once
again, continue cutting around each notch in turn, then reverse the entire
flake after all the notches have been reversed. You will again get a Flake
Preview that looks like RE 5.
Repeat this process several times until the SP stop you. Then launch your Ripple Effect flake!
