X's new 1-CUTZ, how they are made....
2247963

Recently, I discovered that I could make beautiful One Cut flakes that don't kill my hands and are relatively easy to create.  Naturally, many flakers have been asking me how I make them, so I thought I would throw together a quick page to "x"plain them.

First of all, read up on One Cuts, and then read Shalina's Secrets (these flakes use her swiping technique, and the all-important APEX).  There are several different "patterns" that I am "x"perimenting with, but this is how the above flake was made:

Start where shown above, then make your "points" going to the right side of the flake.
Take your line back over to the left side by going under the flake.
Start making horizontal lines above your "points", working your way over to the right side again.
Now make more "points" traveling back to the left side.  Leave room for the ApeX and finish your cut on the same side it started.

As mentioned, this is a "quick" and "rough" "x"planation!  The above diagram should have more uniform and straighter lines, but you will discover what looks best when you are "x"perimenting with the "patterns".  This is a great technique as it doesn't take long to create the flakes and if they don't look good you just delete and try again until you come up with something that is pleasing to the eye.  Also, the above flake was made with this "pattern", I added an "x"tra "layer" (going back and fourth an "x"tra time).

The most important things to remember when creating these flakes:
Finish the line where it began, or at least on the same side of the flake.
Make an ApeX, it is what gives these flakes "life".

Good Luck & Have FUN!

NOTE:
I discovered I could make these flakes after buying a new optical mouse, however, I have also made them on my old puter with the cheap mouse and they look just as good (if not better!)
