Melting Starz are VERY easy to create and are an important step towards making certain Grid Flakes.  If you have a lot of patience, you can make the cuts super close to each other which will allow for 40 or more of them.  This will result  in a nice slow animation.  After making a Melting Star as shown below, try another and throw it into reverse as described in NEGATIVES & POSITIVES.  Be sure you have made a regular Star Flake before attempting these.
