×   Well, what can I say?  I am DELIGHTED to bring to you some information about one of my all time favorite flakers, MARILYN.  She has been around Snowdays for as long as I can remember, making flakes that twinkle or move or are otherwise animated.   ×     One thing is for certain, when you are lucky enough to catch one of Marilyn's wonderful flakes, you are forced to stop and take notice!   They have incredible unfoldings and the finished flake is ALWAYS beautiful to behold.      ×    Probably  the one person who has influenced my  flaking  the most, MARILYN  and her snowflakes are one tough act to follow!      ×    MARILYN  has also been kind enough to contribute some of her vast flaking knowledge to this site.  They include MARILYN'S MUSINGS and her instructions for making FEATHER FLAKES.     ×   MARILYN is a kind and personable flaker who is always willing to share the techniques of her cutting edge flakes, and it is a true pleasure to know her!      ×

× - Would you like to leave any other personal information, such as home life or work?:  I am a divorced mother of three boys and two girls.  I also have three grandsons.  I have a BA in Psychology with a minor in Art from the State University of New York at Buffalo.  I have a MA in Mental Health Counseling from Niagara University as well.  I have contributed my artwork to the Buffalo Board of Education for use in the Buffalo Public Schools.  I designed the logo for the Buffalo Math and Science Magnet School.  I dabbled in digital photo restoration for a short while.  I am also a published author.  I write about psychological and emotional issues.  For most of my working career I was the Senior Secretary to the Clinical Chief of Anesthesiology at Millard Fillmore Hospital in Buffalo, NY.  More recently I worked as a health insurance claims analyst.  I am currently on disability due to an automobile accident on Valentine's Day 2004.  I was also an "extra" in the movie "The Natural" and had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Robert Redford!
× - How long have you been flaking?:  I discovered Popular Front's Snowdays site in January 2005.  I have been sitting at this computer ever since.  HELP!
× - Do you have a favorite style of flake?:  I appreciate a well-designed, well-executed flake.  As for myself, I enjoy making action flakes or character flakes.  As for others, I enjoy the beauty each flaker conveys through his or her own individual flaking style.  I also like a sense of humor.  Character flakes are fun.
× - How would you best describe your own flakes and style?:   My own flaking style?  I guess I would say it's eclectic.  I go on "binges" where I will make a gazillion bubble flakes, or feather flakes and then I get bored and start experimenting with new techniques.  That's why I love our Snowflake Makers' group so much, and of course MisterX.ca!
× - Finally, is there a message or anything else that you would like to be mentioned on your page?:  I think that each of us has a unique gift.  Those gifts are given to us by God to be shared.  Each gift is important and vital to the working of the group as a whole.  What a fortunate community it is who's members share their art, music, sense of humor, language skills, etc. for the benefit and enjoyment of all.  What a wise individual it is who learns to value the contributions of others while allowing his or her own light to shine.
