| - × - Most folks have heard me talk about the "snowflake signature" that a person develops over time after making a lot of flakes at Snowdays. The "signature" is a reflection of a person's artistic individuality. Every person on the planet that has been lucky enough to have been given the gift of "art" has their own personal style and technique that simply cannot be duplicated. This is the signature that I refer to, and it is apparent in every true artist's work. It doesn't matter whether the artist's medium is pencil drawings, oil paintings, sculptures, music, or cutting snowflakes! The signature of a true artist will always shine through~ - × - Kevin is one of these artists. When I first saw one of his flakes, I was astonished by the work he had put into it. Many flakers, (especially new flakers), will just cut and slash where ever and hope for the best, but Kevin's flakes haven't got a cut out of place! Every cut is carefully placed to achieve the result he is looking for. I haven't asked him, but I am sure he uses the "undo" button on regular basis. To get the detail required for making flakes like these, one must have patience, and the undo button becomes one of the best tools of the trade! - × - Most of Kevin's flakes are very dimensional, with the design twisting around itself and tiny "fleX" in the background to add to the effect. They are almost always shaded, and his talent for the use of positive and negative spaces is something one is just born with! - × - What an honor it is for me to feature a talent such as Kevin's on this site. He has become a GREAT flaker in the short amount of time he has been coming to Snowdays and I feel lucky to have met him and gotten to know him :) - × - |

Would you like to leave any other personal information, such as home life or work?: Hum, yes I have a home life, probable too much....LOL I live and work at home. I am single, have several animals, I also live about 200 yards from a lake and spend a lot of time there.
How long have you been flaking?: I think my first flake was in the first part of November of 2005. I would like to thank Tammy, a friend of mine. She is the one who turned me on to Snowdays!
Do you have a favorite style of flake?: I really like all styles, they say variety is the spice of life. Not sure who they are? But I agree!
How would you best describe your own flakes and style? Not real sure, I think it is obvious that I like lots of Dots in my flakes. I think of them as stars so the flakes look like they are floating in the night sky or space. Some people think they are snowflakes. I also like making fire and ice flakes. I like that combination. I don't really know if I have a style, maybe it is the use of the lights and darks together to give the depth and dimension......i.e. 3-D. If you know let me know!...LOL
Is there a message or anything else that you would like to be mentioned on your page?: I am just a guy who loves life and likes to have fun. Most of my friends constantly feel the need to remind me that I am nuts. I really love life and people, and pray that more people out there would learn how to lose any and all hatred towards others.
