×    I decided to pick INGRID  to be my  first featured flake artist  because of her  universally  loved,  "Face Flakes".   I  once caught one of her flakes where a person commented to her that her faces were "Hauntingly Beautiful".   Immediately, I knew there was no better way to describe them.  They  have been WOWING both myself and the masses since she first appeared on the flaking scene back in December of 2004.      ×       INGRID  started her esteemed flaking career by sending some simple snowflake greetings  to her friends at Christmas.   She soon found out that she loved creating  snowflakes & watching other people's flakes fall.  Like many other talented folks before her, INGRID had become hopelessly addicted to snowflaking!      ×      After flaking  under a different alias  for a while,  INGRID decided to try her luck at some new  flaking styles.  She had enjoyed drawing  faces as a teenager and  thought it might be  fun  trying to place one into a snow flake.  It would actually be easier than on paper,  she would only have to draw 1/2 of a portrait along one side and the snowflake would have a perfectly symmetrical full face on it!       ×      At first she didn't think that anyone would really  care for her Face Flakes, but was astounded  to find  out how wrong she was!   Her mailboX  rapidly  filled up with responses to these little "gems".     ×     She decided to sign her Face Flakes with the  new name INGRID,  and continues making more of these wonderful mini masterpieces  under the same name today.     ×

× - Would you like to leave any other personal information, such as home life or work?:  I am a happily married housewife and have been married for 40 years.  My husband and I are both dentists.  We studied together in the same class at University and we are currently working together.  We have a daughter and a son  that are both still single,  so we  don' t have any grandchildren yet... (but we have a substitute named Jack, the little dog of my daughter's  that we all love a lot :))))

× - How would you best describe your own flakes and style?:  I do not have a defined style.  Making face flakes is only an entertainment for me, I just start the tracing and the faces appear naturally...
× - Finally, is there a message or anything else that you would like to be mentioned on your page?:  There is an important thing I have to mention here.   Popular Front's Snowdays is a fantastic site that has allowed me to know  and  to contact some  special persons.   Incredible flakers that I admire,  great friends that share not only their work,  but also the techniques they used  to make their fabulous flakes.  There is also a question that people frequently ask me on my flakes,  "How do you do that?".   Well,  to be honest,  I must say I don't have any special  talent.  Making  faces is easier than everyone thinks!  Actually,  I am not so good at drawing faces on paper,  in fact it's more difficult  for me.   Believe me,  I am not a good tracer,  I am not an artist,  I just make face flakes for fun ...
