Now
you have downloaded the Apophysis program as described HERE,
you are ready to start your artistic adventure!
Go
to your desktop, and double click one of the icons that now appears there.
You need to click one of the following
images
there.
The
following screen shots are taken from the beta Apophysis, (the second image
above), but for the information that
appears
here, either version will work just fine for you.
Now your APOPHYSIS program is OPEN! You will see a window that looks very much like the one below....
As
we see below, there is an image file that will open up as the program appears.
Here we see a file called
"Apophysis-080630-1"
has opened. These are RANDOM files that the program itself generates
when it is opened
and
will most likely be different each time you open your program up.
Therefore, the images that appear on
your
side will be different than the one we see above and below, and that's
a good thing! :D
If
you are not pleased with the starting image the program gives you, just
click on one of the other 100 that appear
on
the list along the left hand side beside your preview window.
I'm
just going to use the starting image that the program provided. You
can do the same, or "browse" until you
find
one you are interested in. Once you have, make sure that the drop
down window shown below is set to "5".
This
is the initial render speed, and its number will determine how quickly
and clearly you will see your image
once
you start manipulating it. "5" makes for quick, yet "grainy" preview
images, just what we want at this stage.
Later, when you are comfortable with the program, play with these settings to find the one you like! ;)
So
that's all for Step Two... EASY!
-
Double click on an Apophysis program to open it -
-
Choose a random file that interests you -
-
Ensure your render speed is set to "5" -
