TEN: RENDERING & FINAL IMAGE
CONGRATULATIONS,
you've MADE IT!!!!! (...almost!)
All
that's left to do is to press your RENDER button and then wait to see your
original FRACTAL MASTERPIECE!!!
If
you are reading this page, I am assuming that you have started on
PAGE
ONE and followed along with the
Apophysis
program open and have now created your own fractal. We are at the
end of the creation process
and
all that's left for us to do is to make the program generate our work.
Here's what will happen when we do.
Oooooo!!!!!
It's SOOOOO "x"citing!!!
We
have an "idea" of what our fractal will look like, but the FINAL IMAGE
is still a mystery! RENDERing is going to
bring
out all the detail and vivid colors, and until it is completed, we are
still "in the dark" as to what we have made.
GO
AHEAD! CLICK THAT RENDER BUTTON!!!
As
always, Apophysis opens up another window. This time it is a window
full of RENDER information. As we can see
below,
I had done a previous render, and that information shows in the top paragraph.
Its size was small, and the render
time
was only 1 minute 33 seconds.
The
current render information is in the lower paragraph. I have chosen
a larger image size this time, and the render
is
going to take a bit longer. As we see above, a "time scale" has appeared
along the bottom, showing an elapsed
time
of 9.46 seconds, with approX. 5 minutes 17.3 seconds remaining until it
is done.
WOO-HOO!
The wait is over! The rendering is now DONE. As we see below,
the total time for this particular render
was
5 minutes, 30.83 seconds. The approX. time given in the above window
is usually very accurate in actual time.
Now,
close this window. Your fractal artwork is ready to be viewed in
the folder you chose to save it in! :D
Now,
before you view my final image below, I want to point a few things out.
I made this fractal from the first
random
image that the program generated. It was NOT of any great interest
to me, nor did I do a LOT of things
to
it to really "spruce it up" to my liking. What I made was a QUICK
fractal, to point out how the program worX.
It
is NOT by any means, one of my BEST worX, nor does it show what Apophysis
is capable of doing for an artist.
But
it IS uniquely MY artistic work, and it can't be duplicated! Even
though I started with a file that was generated
by
Apophysis, this fractal is MINE!!!
If
you started with the SAME file, and followed along with these instructions
as closely as possible, your final
fractal
artwork would STILL look different than the one below. That is what
makes Apophysis so AMAZING!!!
Each
and every creation is going to be an ORIGINAL, and if YOU make a fractal
yourself, you can truly call it
YOUR
OWN!
As
mentioned, there is no RIGHT or WRONG way to make a fractal. YOU
determine what is right or wrong, as
YOU
are the ARTIST here. You may actually want your finished work to
be "grainy", or off center, or bland, or
colorful,
or, or, or.... well, I hope you get the picture. Artistic FREEDOM
is what Apophysis is all about! :D
Below:
The random file APO gave me to start with. I did NOTHING to this
image, "x"cept to render it as is.
Below:
The final rendered fractal I created from the above image. They are
NOTHING alike! In fact, even a "fractal Xpert" would
have
difficulty determining that the below image came from the above one.
When I tell you that Apophysis is truly AMAZING, I
mean
just that! It has to be "x"perienced 1st hand to be appreciated,
and its 'addiction level' is somewhere between, "I've fallen,
and
I can't get up", to "HELP! We need an INTERVENTION here!!!".
BEWARE my dear Cyber Friend, this one's a DOOZY!!! ;D
"WWW.MISTERX.CA"
I named the above fractal, "www.MisterX.ca". Do you wonder why?!
Yes,
of course, it shamelessly promotes my site, but I actually put a little
more thought into the naming process than that!
Naming
your fractal adds an "x"tra dimension to your artwork that forces the viewer
to take a closer look as they try to
determine
where your mind was at when you named it, (and that DOES make a difference!)
All
I did was take a CLOSE look at the above fractal. I immediately noticed
that EACH and every letter from www.misterx.ca
actually
appeared in the fractal. Take a look, THEY'RE ALL THERE!
Now,
the above "not so fancy" fractal has gone from being just an "abstract
scribble" work, to a now closely scrutinized "work
of
art", and that's all due to a good name that makes the viewer think a bit.
NAME
YOUR FRACTAL ARTWORK. IT REALLY MAKES A DIFFERENCE!
There
is TONS more to learn about Apophysis, both by YOU and ME alike.
I think this is one of those things that someone could
play
with for YEARS and still learn more. I haven't even discussed FLAME
FILES, where you will "pick up" from where another
artist,
or several artists, have left off on a particular fractal flame file.
I haven't discussed plug ins to the program, that will add
bizarre
FX to your fractal artwork. I haven't talked about changing variables,
or using script files, or even how to do a quick
render!
There is a LOT to "get into" here.
HOWEVER,
these last 10 simple pages have given you a basic, but GOOD understanding
of some very important features of
Apophysis.
You now have the knowledge to make fractal art that is truly YOURS to show
off, and you will WOW everyone
with
your artistic SKILLZ!
I
hope you have found this first section on fractal making informative.
Yes, I will be adding to it as I continue my investigation
and
learn more about this awesome artistic world! I hope you will also
share the things you discover about it with me, as I have
done
here with you. Together we can learn all the ins and outs of Apophysis,
and make mind blowing images while doing so!
PTHANX!
Post your fractals HERE, we're just dying to see them! :D Make a free account if you're not a member. ;)
